Young Jeezy’s Camaro
Alright, well, I'm not too huge a fan of modern hip-hop myself, but I came across this video here and had to share it. The song, titled "Stop Playin Wit Me/My Camaro" is by the rising rap star from Atlanta, Young Jeezy. The Atlanta connection was part of why I had to share the video (as the shoe store, Walter's, in which the video begins is directly next to my Alma Mater, and I recognize just about every piece of Atlanta location seen in the video). The biggest reason though is that any song with a entire rap about how awesome a man's Camaro is, is fine by me. Jeezy's raps are serviceable (admittedly, I was a little turned off by some of it, but he's well reviewed enough) but did enjoy the music and production a lot in the song. Also, the second half, which begins the "My Camaro" section's a much catchier portion, and features Young Jeezy driving a gorgeous Camaro around my old haunts and nighborhoods all over the East Atlanta area. So, while not a huge fan of the song itself, did really enjoy the music video, and thought it would be fun to share.
And, lets all be honest here, the Camaro and the city are the real stars of this music video. Jeezy himself is secondary to the things he's surrounded by here, and it's always cool to see the Camaro get more mainstream notice and respect for being a beautiful and powerful machine:
